Why we built it
Good product feedback is hard to get fast. Recruiting panels is slow, unmoderated tests miss the “why,” and friends aren’t your users. We wanted a way to get in front of real, verified people — on the devices and in the contexts that matter — in the same afternoon you have a question.
So herdtest is built around live sessions: a builder posts what they need, testers apply, and the work happens in a shared room with screen-share, chat, and a timer. When it’s done, the tester gets paid and both sides leave a review. Reputation is earned on both sides of the market.
How we keep it trustworthy
Sessions can require a signed NDA before the room unlocks, and the exact terms a tester agrees to are recorded. Payments run through an escrow flow so testers know they’ll be paid and builders only release funds for completed work. Every account carries a two-way rating so quality compounds over time.
