Payments are in test mode. The escrow flow runs end-to-end on a mock processor while we finish connecting a live payment provider — no real charges happen yet.
Common questions
How is a session’s pay decided?
The builder sets the fee when they post the session. Testers see it up front before applying, so there are no surprises.
When does a tester get paid?
When the builder marks the session complete, the escrowed fee is released to the tester and appears on their Earnings page. If an accepted spot is cancelled beforehand, the fee is refunded to the builder.
Are there platform fees?
Not while we’re in test mode. When live payments launch, any service fee will be shown clearly before you commit.
Do I need a subscription?
No. herdtest is pay-per-session for builders and free to join for testers.
